The Xixi and Jianxi Rivers converge here to form the Minjiang River, the mother river of Fujian, which flows southeast along Jiufeng Mountain. Therefore, Jiufeng Mountain is known as the first mountain at the source of the Minjiang River. Jiufeng Mountain is 386 meters above sea level. Although the mountain is not high, the nine peaks are continuous and overlapping. It takes some time and energy to reach the top of the mountain.
πThe tour of Jiufeng Mountain starts from the Jiufeng Suspension Bridge at the foot of the mountain. The suspension bridge is 325 meters long. It is the first suspension bridge across the Minjiang River and a landmark building in Yanping.
πThe south end of the bridge is the entrance to Jiufeng Mountain Park. The winding aerial walkway has become a popular attraction in Yanping.
πThe walkway is 858 meters long, like a golden dragon shuttling through the forest, giving people the feeling of "walking on the bridge and traveling in the forest." Leaning on the railing and looking into the distance on the walkway, you can see the whole Yanping city. The exit of the walkway is Yixiang Garden.
πClimb the steep 245 steps to reach Lingyun Pavilion on the second peak. The majestic Zhengzhong Temple is not far away, surrounded by ancient trees and beautiful scenery.
πIf you just want to check in at the aerial walkway, you can return the same way. If you want to continue climbing, you can reach the monument on the sixth peak or the highest point, Jiufeng Moonlight. The whole journey takes about 2-3 hours.
πThe Yuantong Zen Temple at the foot of the mountain was formerly the ancient "Xuanmiao Temple." Since the temple was built in the Five Dynasties, it has witnessed countless historical changes.
πThe nearby Jiufeng Mountain Zoo is small but has a wide variety of animals. The ticket price is CNY 10.
