Located by the Yangtze River, Nantong conceals a stunning sunset hiking route. By accidentally setting the wrong taxi destination, I stumbled upon this unexpected gem!
🌅 Route Overview:
- Total distance: ~2.5 km (1-hour walk)
- Riverside benches every few meters—no worry about resting spots
- Check sunset time in advance and start 1.5 hours earlier
🏝️ Recommended Route:
1. **Starting Point**: Navigate to **Pengxin Garden State Guest Hotel Nantong**. Walk from the gate to the riverside, then follow the trail straight—chasing the sunset while admiring the **Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge** from afar.
2. **Fanyin Square**: At the foot of **Langshan Mountain**, a riverside boardwalk extends over the water—perfect for photos.
3. **Yangtze Finless Porpoise Bay**: Features vast reed marshes and a viewing platform.
4. **Yu Tower**: After crossing the reeds, climb a small hill for a Yangtze River panorama, then descend (~15-min walk).
5. **Endpoint**: **Nantong Binjiang Park**—where sunset paints the sky crimson and the river glitters gold. Don’t miss the lighthouse!
💗 Tips:
1. Wear comfy sneakers; bring a windproof jacket (breezy riverside).
2. Gear: Portable water bottle, power bank, tripod, and mosquito repellent (reeds/hills have bugs).
🗺 **Plan B**: Short on time? Taxi directly to **Binjiang Park**, but hiking offers unmissable scenery!
