Mediocre French cuisine!! SINAE restaurant lunch set is not expensive|Osaka Food

Guide
Located near Kitahama Station, I can get there in one stop from Kyoto, making the route convenient. Also, lunch is offered only two days a week, making the price more reasonable. So, I came🤣

On that day, it was cold and rainy, and two young ladies were waiting at the door for customers. When customers arrived, they individually guided them to the two-floor lounge and served hot ginger tea to warm them up, very thoughtful. The dining area is on the third floor, and the restroom is on the second floor, so you have to climb stairs all the way, which is not friendly for someone like me with leg problems😫

The dining area is decorated very femininely, and except for the chef, the entire staff is female. There is some issue with kitchen ventilation; even though I wasn’t sitting closest to the kitchen, I could still occasionally smell odors😫

The young ladies tried hard to introduce the dishes and would come over to ask for opinions, but the wine serving timing was off—both dishes arrived before the wine. Possibly because there were three pairs and me alone for lunch, and two sommeliers couldn’t keep up, plus one young lady was not responsible for English-speaking guests. Overall, the service felt a bit hectic, including when settling the bill.

Four amuses, almost no impression🤷‍♀️ Sweet peas with cheese, the flavor is predictable from the combination.

Tomato cold soup was extremely impressive, just pure tomato👍 perfectly retaining the fresh astringency and aroma of the tomato, both smell and taste were authentic. It was cool, sweet, and slightly savory.

Small fish, served with chopped spring vegetables and smoked caviar, with spring vegetable cake at the bottom. It was fresh and spring-like, with a slight bitterness balanced by layered salty flavors. The carb part had a texture like a steamed rice cake, which I didn’t like much😅

Warm salad, fennel was a bit overpowering. Chicken stuffed with morel mushrooms, the sauce was white wine-based and a bit rich.

The main course was 40-day aged Wagyu beef, using meat from Hozu Sakaeya, no complaints, the flavor and doneness were perfect❗️👍 The sauce had the same issue as the previous dishes, quite rich, although it had a mustard tang, it felt a bit heavy.

Strawberry crémet d'Anjou and apple caramel mousse, served with tea, both quite tasty✅

Lunch with wine can be had for 20,000 yen, a reasonable price. But the dishes were standard and conservative, not very surprising. The professionalism of the service was lacking (the chef seemed a bit arrogant). The environment had some oil smoke smell, and you have to go up and down stairs repeatedly😵

Overall, not enough to attract me to come a second time, or rather, if it were dinner prices, I would feel it’s a bit of a loss.

As a Michelin star candidate, it’s OK. If there are other options, I’d recommend prioritizing them.
