✓ Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library
Nakanoshima is home to many classical buildings. Next to Osaka Central Public Hall is another historic building designed in the style of a Roman temple, now serving as the Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library. The dome in the main hall and the spiral staircase truly resemble European temples and churches, creating a spectacular sight. Both the second and third floors are open for visits, showcasing a typical Renaissance-style architecture.
As a library, Nakanoshima Library holds about 550,000 volumes. Although smaller than the Prefectural Central Library’s 2.5 million volumes, its specialty lies in its collection of ancient documents and books related to Osaka’s economy and commerce, which are of significant historical value.
