One of the best free museums to visit in Shanghai

During my time in Shanghai, this museum was undoubtedly one of my favorite experiences. You can easily reach the China Art Museum by taking Metro Line 8 and getting off at the corresponding station, followed by a short walk. Entry was hassle-free, and no one asked or checked anything; we were allowed in directly.
The exterior of the museum is massive and impressive, with a stunning architectural design. Inside, it is filled with exhibitions, artwork, and digital art. There are also options for food and drinks within the museum. We visited on a weekday, and it was pleasantly quiet with fewer visitors.
In comparison, when we tried to visit the Shanghai Museum, tickets were sold out, and online reservations were fully booked for nearly a week. That’s why I really appreciated how easy it was to visit the China Art Museum without needing to book in advance.
A small tip: all museums in Shanghai are closed on Mondays. If you plan to visit, try to go early in the day. Additionally, it’s likely to be more crowded on weekends or during holidays.
