🎣Zijiang River Fishing Diary: A Guide to Slowly Waiting for Fish to Bite Among Green Mountains and Clear Waters

The Zijiang River Basin in Hunan Province boasts clear waters and is rich in crucian carp, carp, and black carp, making it a hidden gem for anglers🌊. We recommend two key fishing spots: Lixi Bay in the middle and lower reaches, where shallow waters are abundant and perfect for hand-rope fishing for crucian carp; and Fuyi Reservoir in the upper reaches, where deep pools harbor large fish and long-range casting with a sea rod is easy to catch.

Gear should be prepared accordingly: Use fishy bait in spring and lighter wheat-flavored bait in summer. Remember to bring mosquito repellent and a sun hat. Local fishermen advise that the best fishing times are 5-7 a.m. and 6-8 p.m., and calm, overcast days are even more conducive to catching fish.

Don't waste your time fishing while enjoying the scenery! Bamboo rafts often pass by the fishing spot, and the green mountains on both sides are picturesque. When you get tired, you can stop fishing and enjoy the scenery. In the evening, you can also see the beautiful scene of the sunset covering the river. This leisurely feeling is more precious than catching fish.
