I visited Hesou Village on Dapeng Peninsula during a winter holiday and stayed for two nights. By the last day, I was really eager to leave.
Two days and one night is more than enough. Here's my guide:
Day 1: Visit the observatory in the afternoon. It's too hot at noon, so you can go a bit later. After coming down from the mountain, you can stroll along the beach during sunset.
Day 2: Wake up early and visit the observatory again for a completely different experience.
If you don't feel like climbing, you can wander around the village and take photos. There are some very artistic little corners.
The beaches near the observatory charge entrance fees. Since I planned to visit Yangmeikeng and Dapeng Fortress later, I skipped the observatory beaches.
The main issue here is food - all the restaurants serve almost identical menus.
