The mysterious Ryugu Sea Cave

If you visit Shimoda in Izu, why not visit this mysterious cave?

Go through the torii gate on the side of the road marked "Ryugu Sea Cave Entrance" and descend the stairs to find the cave. Upon entering, you'll see the beautiful blue ocean lapping through a hole in the rock in front of you. The contrast between the dimly lit cave and the sparkling ocean illuminated by the sunlight is so beautiful you'll want to gaze upon it forever. We recommend visiting on a sunny day.

🚌Take the Tokai Bus to Ryugu Sea Cave Station (close to the station)

After enjoying the view from inside the cave, follow the route to the top and look down through the cave's skylight. You're sure to spot a large heart-shaped ❤️. Look further out toward the sea for a beautiful view.
