🔥 Cha Liu BBQ · Whispers over the Charcoal Fire
Upon arriving in Taichung, my first stop was Cha Liu BBQ.
The wooden space was faintly permeated with the warm aroma of charcoal.
Sitting at the Cha Liu BBQ table, the charcoal flames flickered gently.
Different cuts of beef sizzled on the grill.
That sound reminded me of laughter from the past, as warm and genuine as the charcoal fire.
The flavors are more refined now, but that simple anticipation remains within me.
The moment the Wagyu beef melted in my mouth,
it seemed as if even fragments of the past were gently illuminated.
🐟 The Refreshing Charm of Salt-Grilled Fish
It's rare to come here specifically to try salt-grilled fish.
The skin was slightly crispy, the flesh was delicate and white.
It was simply the purity of salt and freshness, without any elaborate seasoning.
But it made the moments we shared so memorable.
I simply ordered a plate of water spinach.
This purity, like using aroma and taste buds to leave a lasting impression.
🍣 Mingyuan Japanese Cuisine · Quiet Delicacy
Sushi is like art, sea urchins are like clouds.
The surprise of trying salmon roe still shines in my heart.
A sip of warm miso soup makes time seem to slow down.
🏛️ Jukuiju · A Gaze on History
A blend of red brick and Baroque.
Walking through the ancient house,
I seem to hear the whispers of my ancestors.
The setting sun
reminds me that I, too, am a passerby of time.
🌳 Wufeng Lin Family Garden · A Long Song of Culture
Pavilions, towers, and the shimmering water.
Walking along the red brick path,
I recall the ideals and aspirations of my youth.
In history and life,
the most moving moments are those that leave their mark.

🌸 This trip to Taichung,
From the gentle sizzle of charcoal barbecue to the earthy, savory flavor of salt-grilled meat,
From the exquisite craftsmanship of Japanese cuisine to the cultural echoes of historical sites and gardens,
It was more than just a journey,
but more like a poetic reunion with memories.
