Creative Mullet Roe Cuisine Restaurant - Koi Fish

This restaurant has a unique and artistic vibe, offering creative dishes made with mullet roe, a traditional delicacy typically served during the Lunar New Year. The outdoor area features a Japanese-style garden, complemented by reindeer decorations for the Christmas season.

The menu includes both set meals and à la carte options, though the prices are on the higher side. On this visit, I tried a set meal priced at NT$880 per person, plus a 10% service charge. The food was delicious and portions were generous. The salad came with two shrimp, dressed with an orange juice and cheese sauce, which I personally found a bit too sweet. The appetizers included tasty mullet roe cassava, jellyfish skin, and other items. The mullet roe was not just a garnish; the portion was quite substantial. For soup, I chose the fish soup, which was incredibly flavorful with scallops and leek layers adding depth to the aroma. However, I felt the fish was slightly overcooked, making the texture a bit tough. The highlight was the fried rice, with options like mullet roe fried rice, scallop fried rice, and sakura shrimp fried rice. The wok hei (breath of the wok) was strong, making it very tasty. If you enjoy spicy food, I highly recommend asking the staff for their scallop chili sauce. Desserts included taro paste, mullet roe Russian candy (which was amazing), and osmanthus jelly. For drinks, I ordered coffee, which was a bit too mild for my taste.

Overall, the dining environment was pleasant, making it a great place to relax and chat. The restaurant is quite popular, so be sure to make a reservation in advance.

Parking is available at the park parking lot on Gui Sui Street nearby.
