I was deeply attracted by the art interwoven between silk threads in the special exhibition "Weaving Wonders" at the National Palace Museum in Taipei. This exhibition features a selection of Qing Dynasty court embroidery, from dragon robes, shawls to sachets and screens. Every stitch and every thread contains delicate craftsmanship and profound cultural symbols.
In particular, the cultural relics made of gold thread and kesi silk not only show extremely high skills, but also reveal the royal family's emphasis on authority and auspicious images. The soft lighting in the exhibition hall makes each piece of fabric like a gently illuminated historical fragment, as if telling the aesthetics and wisdom of the ancients.
This is a quiet gaze at the beauty of oriental silk art, and also a profound tribute to historical craftsmanship.
