Zhishan Garden

#September2025

🏯 Zhishan Garden, located next to the National Palace Museum in Shilin District, Taipei City, is a 1.9-hectare garden modeled after the Song Dynasty, completed in 1985. Inspired by Wang Xizhi's "Lanting Preface," the garden blends classical architecture with natural landscapes to recreate the poetic atmosphere of ancient literati.

Major attractions include the Pine Breeze Pavilion, the Orchid Pavilion, the Brush Washing Pond, the Winding Stream, and the Dragon Pond. The garden features flowing bridges, pavilions, and traditional plantings such as pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms. Lush greenery in spring and summer, and plum blossoms in full bloom in winter, making it a perfect place to visit in all seasons.

Originally requiring an entrance fee, it is now free and open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays). Access is convenient: take the bus to the National Palace Museum Station and walk there. This is a quiet resort that combines history, art and leisure.
