#chinatravel Visiting Shui Li Snake Kiln Cultural Park in Nantou felt like walking into a living story of pottery and tradition. Tucked away in Dingkan Village, the place is full of warmth from both the earthy scent of clay and the friendly staff who are always happy to share their knowledge. The kiln itself is impressive with its long winding shape and weathered bricks telling decades of history.
You can watch artisans shaping clay with effortless skill or even try your hand at the potter’s wheel which is way trickier than it looks. The small museum showcases beautiful ceramic pieces from rustic everyday ware to intricate art. I loved wandering the outdoor areas where greenery wraps around old structures giving the whole space a peaceful vibe. There is also a cozy café that makes for a perfect break. It is an easy spot to spend a couple of hours and leave with both memories and maybe a handmade souvenir.
