Tatev Monastery, considered the most beautiful monastery in Armenia, stands in a deep valley in southern Armenia.
This cliff-top monastery, built in the 9th century, flourished as an important educational institution in medieval Armenia. At its peak, it is said to have housed nearly 600 monks.
The monastery is located deep in the mountains, and while it takes a long time to reach, a cable car, certified by Guinness as the world's longest (5,752m), opened in 2013 and connects the town at the foot of the mountain.
There is an observation deck along the mountain path a short distance from the monastery.
Parking is free.
There's also a small cafe-like shop.
The view was breathtaking, almost like a RPG.
