The Historical Monastery of Tatev ⛪✨

Perched dramatically on the edge of a deep gorge in southern Armenia, the Tatev Monastery is one of the country’s most awe-inspiring landmarks — a masterpiece of medieval architecture and spiritual devotion 🏞️. Built in the 9th century, it once served as a major center of education, housing one of the most important universities of medieval Armenia 📜.

What makes Tatev so breathtaking is not only its history, but its location — standing high above the Vorotan Gorge, surrounded by endless green valleys and mountains that fade into the clouds 🌄. To reach it, travelers often take the “Wings of Tatev”, one of the longest reversible cable cars in the world 🚠, gliding nearly 6 km above deep canyons and rivers. It’s an unforgettable ride — part thrill, part serenity — offering panoramic views of Armenia’s wild and timeless landscape.
