Even if you miss the peak bloom of the Meguro River Cherry Blossom Festival held annually in the fourth week of March, 🌸 there is a way to enjoy cherry blossoms year-round.
🏛️ Meguro Sato Sakura Museum
At the annual Newcomer Award exhibition, you can see large Japanese paintings themed around cherry blossoms. It’s an ideal environment for those who want to self-study the materials science of Japanese-style painting supplies and watercolor Japanese painting techniques.

🏡 Former Asakura Residence – After the cherry blossoms, the azaleas are beautiful.
The Former Asakura Residence, designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, was built in Taisho 8 (1919) by Mr. Kojiro Asakura, who served as chairman of the Tokyo Prefectural Assembly and Shibuya Ward Assembly.
You can tour the two-story building that reflects Taisho-era residential culture and the stroll-style garden.
The Japanese-style garden is especially beautiful during the fresh greenery season of April to May when there are fewer flowers. The storehouse housing valuable household items is also worth seeing.
