Yoyogi Park 代々木公園

#tokyospots
I visit Yoyogi Park religiously every autumn, specifically for the ginkgo trees. The spectacle is unlike anything else in Tokyo. When those leaves turn a brilliant, uniform gold, it transforms the main avenue into a natural cathedral of color. The light streaming through the dense canopy creates an almost magical, ethereal glow, providing endless opportunities for stunning landscape and portrait photography. Unlike the crowds at some other famous autumn spots, the vastness of Yoyogi means you can still find pockets of solitude. I also love how the park’s geometry—the wide paths and the structured arrangement of the trees—contrasts with the wild, natural beauty of the leaves. It’s a sensory experience; the slight chill in the air and the carpet of golden leaves crunching underfoot make it the perfect place to spend an entire afternoon chasing the light.
