Recommended 3-day core travel course in Xiamen

Start the first day by exploring Gulangyu Island.
Gulangyu is an island without cars, so its quiet and leisurely atmosphere is attractive.
If you take a ferry to Gulangyu early in the morning, you can leisurely tour the entire island.

First, go up to ‘Sunlight Rock’ to look down on Gulangyu, the sea, and Xiamen mainland at a glance. Afterwards, go to ‘Sukjeong Garden’ to enjoy a walk in the garden, and if you also visit the Piano Museum, you can feel the classical music sensibility. For lunch, be sure to try Shacha noodles or peanut soup at a local Gulangyu restaurant.

In the afternoon, it would be good to take a light walk along the Underwater World (aquarium) or the beach promenade. There are many cafes with a nice atmosphere in every alley in Gulangyu, so you can finish leisurely with dessert and tea.

The second day is to explore Xiamen city and Zhongshan Road.
In the morning, I recommend ‘Nanputo Temple’. It is a large Buddhist temple where you can take a walk and take pictures in a quiet atmosphere.

For lunch, go to Zhongshan Road Street and try Xiamen's signature dish, Shachamyeon, and seafood dishes. In the afternoon, go shopping for souvenirs on Zhongshan Road Street and enjoy a variety of local street food.

In the evening, the entire Zhongshan Road is lit up with lights, creating a really nice atmosphere. There is also a snack street with a night market feel, and it is perfect to finish at a dessert cafe.

For the third day, we recommend a beach walk and healing schedule.
In the morning, walk along the Huannanhai coastal promenade and enjoy the ocean view. Then, head to Xiamen University, where you can see one of the most beautiful campuses and natural scenery in China.

Have a quick lunch at a cafe near the beach or a local restaurant, and in the afternoon, stop by a rooftop cafe on the beach and spend some leisurely time watching the sunset.
