Entering the Kuche Palace (Linji Road) in Kuche's old city is like stepping back in time! This 50,000-square-meter National 4A-level scenic spot, rebuilt in 2004, blends Uyghur and Central Plains architectural styles, witnessing the rise and fall of 12 generations of "Kuche Kings" over 200 years.
Three must-see exhibition areas: The Kucha Museum showcases Silk Road Buddhist cave art and millennia-old artifacts, revealing the secrets of ancient Kucha civilization; the Palace exhibition area displays merit tokens and royal treasures, detailing the heroic deeds of the E'dui family, from their suppression of rebellions and their ennoblement as Beile to their capture of Zhang Geer and promotion to Duke of a County; and the mottled bricks and stone of the old city wall tell the story of war horses and camel bells.
From the pavilion overlooking Kuche Old City, the fragrance of saxaul flowers wafts through the breeze, creating a sense of being transported to a Western epic. This place is more than just a history lesson; it's a living testimony to the integration of ethnic groups!
