Summer means soaking in the water|A hidden gem water park with few people for kids to play at Yao Lake

How can summer be complete without going to a water park?
Which kid doesn’t love playing in the water?
Yao Lake Bamboo Rat Water Park has few people, very few. We came to Yao Lake on Friday and went to the water park on Saturday, but it really wasn’t crowded. See picture 10 of the surfing area—if you love water, you can really go all out❗️❗️
Yao Lake Water Park is less than a 3-hour drive from Shanghai, located inside the Yao Lake Town scenic area, right next to Yao Lake Grand Hotel and Yao Factory Hotel. It’s perfect for letting your little rascals go wild in the summer.

Hotel recommendation: If you want to visit the water park, I recommend staying at Yao Lake Grand Hotel because they offer a free shuttle to the water park, and it’s very close.

Water park: Tickets for the water park are sold separately. Children under 1.2 meters are free, adults are 160 RMB per person. The park is divided into indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor area is really sunny during the day, so be sure to use sunscreen to avoid sunburn on the kids. The indoor area has a surfing zone, various small water slides for little kids, and a shallow water area. The outdoor area has several thrilling slides, but you can’t ride if you weigh less than 90 jin (about 45 kg)! There’s also a lazy river where you need to rent a float from the park for 50 RMB each; four people can share one float.

Restaurant: The park has a restaurant serving curry rice, cold noodles, fried chicken wings, popcorn chicken, oden, and some snacks. It’s not bad. There’s a FamilyMart convenience store at the park entrance, so I suggest buying some water and snacks before entering.

Friendly reminder: Bring your own swimsuit, float, water gun, swimming goggles, plastic slippers, and disposable towels. Towels aren’t mandatory because if you rent a locker, there will be a towel inside, but it’s cleaner to bring your own. Although the park has a shop selling supplies, it’s really expensive. I bought a pair of swimming goggles for my kid for 120 RMB, and they were very basic.
