Yunnan, a truly unique and wonderful region!

#yunnanguide this is such an amazing place packed full with culture and experiences, I went to so many places and here are just some -

1. Yila Grassland - a huge expanse of grassland and sky where you can wear a traditional outfit and ride a horse around to explore and take pictures with cultural backdrops
2. Dukezong - world’s largest prayer wheel in Shangri-La, “Little Tibet”, spin it a complete round for your wishes to come true
3. Songzanlin Monastery - an ancient building complex with intricate and traditional Tibetan architecture and culture
4. Pudaco National Park - a really huge park with lots of forests and lakes
5. Tiger Leaping Gorge - legend has it a tiger leaped across these raging waters and that’s how this place got its name
6. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Lijiang Impressions and Blue Moon Valley - this is such a majestic and beautiful place, make sure you save some time to see the valley, the blue waters are a sight to behold in person (we spent too much time at the mountain and had barely any left for this)
7. Lijiang Old Town - vibrant place to explore shops and eats but if you have a weak stomach maybe avoid some of the spicier or crazier stuff
8. Shaxi Ancient Town - idyllic small ancient town with pretty streets and chill vibes
9. Dali Old Town - lots of pretty old towns and this is one of them
10. Stone Forest - a little underwhelming at first but some parts with the natural rock formations are really quite cool, you just have to venture deeper to find them

There’s lots more but it’s hard to cover in one post… there are some other forests (like Cangshan) and lake areas (like Erhai) that are worth checking out too if you like nature!
