Claustrophobia Was Masterfully Manipulated"
The three geodesic domes were used to manipulate various forms of discomfort. The first was heat, the second was sound, but the third (the smallest, driest dome) was claustrophobia. They used tall, densely packed desert cacti and succulents, combined with extremely low lighting, to create narrow, prickly channels. You had to physically turn sideways and squeeze through areas while feeling the sharp plants brush against your clothes. The inherent danger of the spiky plants added a perfect, visceral layer of physical threat that was unique to a botanical garden setting.
