Classic and modern coexist, tradition and fashion blend together.

Colorful and diverse is an understatement to describe its charm and vitality.

This is Beijing, east of the Forbidden City.

If you want to discover more unique ways to play in Beijing, like me, then read the following carefully! Wandering east of the Forbidden City will definitely change your perception of Beijing. Many people who visit Beijing will find there’s a souvenir unique to Beijing: the Rabbit God dressed in golden armor and a red robe. The Rabbit God first appeared during the early years of the Ming Dynasty, during the reign of Emperor Zhengde, and was used to worship the moon on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. Legend has it that the Rabbit God was born during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, who was born in the Year of the Rabbit. This imbued the Rabbit God with a certain royal aura, and it became a popular deity.

The Guardian Art Center is adjacent to the Forbidden City. Spanning approximately 5,000 square meters, it hosts not only a hotel but also numerous art exhibitions, auctions, and other events. From its services to the variety of exhibitions, it's a destination regularly visited by art lovers. I spent an entire afternoon exploring two exhibition halls. From the linear beauty of Mucha to the modern "architecture of the five senses," it was a visual feast that felt like a journey through time and space.

Eternal Mucha: The Magic of Lines. The entire exhibition hall, from the layout and lighting to the display of exhibits, is my favorite. From his youth to his international fame, Mucha established his distinctive style, seamlessly combining decorative patterns with sinuous curves. To fulfill his dreams, he also worked as a stage set painter, designing interiors for manors. It was then that the poster for "Gismonda," the film that made Mucha famous, with its harmonious composition, flowing lines, and elegant, soft tones, elevated advertising posters to the realm of art.

Yue He Yan Club - Afternoon Tea

The pigment quicksand cake is both beautiful and worth the price, the rich Buddha's hand pastry is highly recognizable, the osmanthus red bean cake is sweet but not greasy, the rose cake is full of floral flavor, and the Sanlihe koi carp comes in a fairy-like manner.

Yueheyan Guildhall—Excerpt Opera Performance

Enjoy another excerpt opera performance every evening at 7:30 PM. The program changes weekly, so reservations are required. This timeless, ancient charm and familiar excerpts have made me a fan.
