Founded in 1909, the Yunnan Army Lecture Hall is a "century-old military academy" and is famous at home and abroad. However, at the beginning of the founding of New China, the history of the Chinese People's Liberation Army establishing a military school here is little known. From here, a large number of outstanding military generals represented by Zhu De and Ye Jianying, the founding fathers of New China, came out. The former site of the Yunnan Army Lecture Hall Military Academy is located in Chenghuapu in the center of Kunming, adjacent to Cuihu Lake in the east, Qianju Street in the west, Cangyuan Lane in the north, and Yunnan Science and Technology Museum in the south.

The building on the old site is currently well preserved, it is a small building in the style of the Republic of China, elegant yellow building, and it looks very good to take pictures when the sun is good. The interior of the building is open as an exhibition hall, with a large classroom (auditorium), an arsenal, and long-term fixed exhibitions on the history of the lecture hall, the 99 Uprising and the National Patriotic Movement.
