Taking the kids to a feast of nature - 3-day, 2-night family trip to Lijiang

I took my 3-year-old twins to Yunnan during the off-season and embarked on a beautiful family trip. Yunnan needs no filters, the blue sky and white clouds are a natural painting.

Looking back at our previous stop [Family trip in Dali], we arrived at our third stop in Yunnan, Lijiang! This romantic city, under the snow-capped mountains, in the ancient city, next to the waterwheel, with flowers, lakes, forests, wooden houses...it's like stepping into a fairy tale.

My dear children, please keep this mommy's version of the attractions to share.

Third stop: 3-day, 2-night trip to Lijiang

Dali Ancient City Bus Station, Lijiang

From Dali to Lijiang, we took the bus for 99 yuan per person. The journey took about 2.5 hours. We booked a homestay before departure (near the Zhongyi Market in Lijiang Old Town). I've heard the Old Town is quite commercialized, but I'm not sure what to say. Anyway, we decided to try the cross-bridge rice noodles in the Old Town and enjoy the panoramic views. We also took the kids to experience the flower-filled cobblestone streets of Lijiang and climb Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

For both Dali and Lijiang, we stayed near the Old Town and transferred directly to the bus station with the kids. It was close and convenient. No need to transfer to the high-speed rail, and it was a relatively short walk to the bus station!

Day 1 Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

It was my first time taking the kids up a snowy mountain. To prevent altitude sickness, I only went to Yunshanping Mountain. The snow hadn't melted yet, making it a beautiful photo op. They kept running and jumping in the forest. I guess I was overthinking it. I should have gone to the summit. After that, go to Blue Moon Valley~ You can take your time to explore

Snow Line 101, Zhongyi Market Station goes directly to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the ticket price is 15 yuan, why choose it and why would you want a BMW (children who don't occupy seats get free tickets)

Day 2: Lijiang Ancient Town

Walking with the kids through this flower-filled ancient city is so wonderful! There's so much to eat, drink, and play with... It's so easy to keep the kids happy. Just look at the floodplains in the ancient city.

Take a ride, eat some flower cakes, stroll along Sifang Street, take in the beautiful scenery of the ancient city beneath the snow-capped mountains, and admire the bricks and tiles of the ancient city walls. Then, feel the bustle of the night market at night—it's a wonderful family trip.

Bus: In Lijiang Ancient Town (Red Sun Square), there is a special bus to Shuhe Ancient Town and Baisha Ancient Town for 5r/person, with a 20-minute trip. You can pay via vx or zfb, which is very cost-effective.

Car rental: Electric car 30r/day, no deposit required. Lijiang Ancient Town is about 7 kilometers away from Shuhe Ancient Town. You can't ride a bike into the ancient town as it is all cobblestone roads.

1 Navigate to Shunan Commercial Bank, opposite is the Lijiang logo. This store is a clothing store. It was closed due to rain and not open for business. There were few people, so it was very good for taking good photos

2 You can use portrait mode on your phone, the background is blurred, it looks like a camera

4. Shuhe Ancient Town is quite pristine. Wearing ethnic costumes will help you blend in with the scenery.

I ate there last night and couldn't stop thinking about it, so I went back the next day at noon. It was really delicious! It was my favorite place during my three-day trip to Yunnan!

Environment: Comfortable, small courtyard covered with flowers and shaded by green trees, it has a unique flavor!

Service: Warm and responsive. The young staff were quick and friendly!

Food: Needless to say, I've been here twice and haven't had any disappointments. Each dish was different, delicious, and generous. In one word: impeccable!
