There are many guesthouses and B&Bs, ranging from lively and quiet to those offering views of the snow-capped mountains and the ancient town. You can choose one based on your needs. I wouldn't recommend one, as it requires consideration for your subsequent itinerary. Lijiang Old Town is covered in uneven cobblestone roads, making it inaccessible to bicycles or cars. Even if the B&B owner comes to pick you up, they'll have to walk, and the roads are difficult to navigate, with the South Gate and North Gate both quite far away. If you're staying in the old town and need to lug your luggage around, it's recommended to find a suitcase you don't mind carrying. Regarding accommodations, there were some rentals for 80 yuan a night, but I ignored them. I booked one online for under 200 yuan. It was spacious, clean, and fully equipped (including a sewing kit and a personal care kit, a first for me in a B&B). I think you'd be able to stay in a similar price for a lower price.

The best restaurant in Shuhe Ancient Town, Lijiang. I fell in love with it. I fell in love with it at first sight. The first thing I saw was the environment of the restaurant. There were flowers planted outside. I liked the interior decoration from the outside, so I came here without hesitation!
I won’t brag about how good it is. It really hits my aesthetic point!

Grab tickets for the Snow Mountain Cableway
The big cableway is under maintenance these days and I can't go up, so I bought the small cableway. Cable car tickets can be grabbed by multiple people at the same time, at different times, to prevent being caught. Wait 120 seconds to see if someone else has already grabbed one, then there's no need to grab one. Small and medium-sized cable cars are easy to grab. The Yunshanping small cable car costs 60 yuan per person. The scenery is nice, with a lot of fir trees and a primeval forest. You can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance.
The reservation time can be advanced or postponed by half an hour. For example, if the reservation time is 11:30-12:00, then you can check in between 11:00-12:30, but you can't enter during other time periods.
Route to the Snow Mountain:
Get on a 7-person car in the ancient city around 9:40, and it will drive non-stop in the middle.

You can choose to walk on the plank road or take a battery car to There are two routes to Yunshanping. I don't know what the scenery is like on the electric car, but you don't need to take a car for the 900 meters (unless you are not feeling well). You can walk slowly and enjoy the scenery along the way. It takes about an hour and a half to walk around Yunshanping. Then go back to the cable car entrance and queue up to take the cable car down. Wait for the bus at the bus stop to get off at the Shuiyue Pavilion in Blue Moon Valley to visit Blue Moon Valley. After an hour of sightseeing, you can return. There are signs to the bus stop and return to the visitor center (Parking Lots 1/2 and Parking Lot 3 end at the visitor center where you start by climbing the stairs).
Snowy mountain weather and altitude sickness
I felt okay when I went to Lijiang and Yunshanping. I didn't feel anything at all after arriving in Lijiang. I had a slight headache and was out of breath when going up and down the stairs in Yunshanping. Maybe that's it. If you need it, you can prepare an oxygen cylinder. I also saw many tourists using oxygen along the way. The most important thing is to wear more clothes to keep warm rather than catch a cold. On October 27th, the temperature at the tourist cable car ticket center was 9 degrees Celsius. I am afraid of the cold, so I wore long johns, a liner inside my jacket, and a shirt, but I still felt a little cold. It was better when I got to Yunshanping where there was sunshine.
Because the weather was really good that day, the ultraviolet rays and the reflection of the snow-capped mountains were very strong. The hat, mask and sunglasses set saved my life! You must have them all, you will feel uncomfortable if you are missing one!
