2022 Beijing Self-Driving Trip to Yunnan and Guangxi Part 5 - Ganden Sumtseling Monastery and Dukezong Ancient Town
Departed from Lijiang to Shangri-La (Administrative Region: Diqing) on September 24, 2022. This trip included Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, Dukezong Ancient Town, Pudacuo, Napahai Lake Ring Road, Xiaozhongdian Flower Sea, the First Bend of the Yangtze River, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Haba Snow Mountain Observation Deck, and Baishuitai.
Of these, Xiaozhongdian Flower Sea and the First Bend of the Yangtze River are both on the way from Lijiang to Shangri-La, so it was a good idea to stop by along the way.
Departed Lijiang at 10:20, entered the highway at Lijiang West Toll Station, and exited the highway at Xionggu Toll Station (ETC toll: 23.60 yuan), and arrived at the First Bend of the Yangtze River at 11:13. (This is a very good official tourist attraction, but it is under maintenance and there is no scenery to see.)
The roadside viewing points are free.
I saw it on the way here, but passed by without paying attention. I stopped here on my way back.
The location here is low and I can't see the turn, so I can only rely on the drone.
The prominent spot to the right of the white house in the distance is the official scenic area indicated by the navigation. This roadside location is the apex of the bay.
Enter the highway from the Xionggu Toll Station at 11:58, exit the highway from the Xiaozhongdian Toll Station (ETC toll: 82.28 yuan), pass the epidemic prevention checkpoint, and pass the 48-hour nucleic acid test. Arrive at the Xiaozhongdian Flower Sea Scenic Area at 13:50.
The scenic area is empty and there are no flowers.
Continue going 2km, and you will see the sea of flowers (wolfsbane, a kind of grass) on the right side of the road.

Leave at 14:30 and continue to Shangri-La.
Arrived at Vienna Hotel (Shangri-La Ancient City Branch) in Diqing, Yunnan at 15:16. It's the one on the right of the Gemini Building in front. The first thing to do is to do the nucleic acid test.
Drive to Ganden Sumtseling Monastery at 16:10. Because the distance is very close, it takes less than 10 minutes to get there (ticket: 55 yuan/person, shuttle bus: 35 yuan/person).

Leave the scenic area and arrive at the parking lot.
This place is very nice and beautiful, it is worth visiting.
Left Ganden Songzanlin Monastery at 18:55 and arrived at Dukezong Ancient Town at 19:12 (parking: 5 yuan). The famous large prayer wheel.
It’s very difficult to turn!

Another famous activity: dancing! Quite lively!
The next day, after returning from Pudacuo, I went there again, mainly for the nucleic acid test.
Today's trip ended successfully. Both of these major attractions are great!
Tomorrow we will go to Pudacuo. If time permits, we will also go to Napahai and walk the road around the lake!
