[Liangshan Experience] Revisiting Lugu Lake and Stunning Muli Shangri-La

Yanyuan County once occupied a key position along the Southern Silk Road, renowned for its salt and iron production. Beyond its status as a major salt-producing county, Yanyuan is also a significant producer of Sichuan apples and Sichuan peppercorns. On the sixth day of our trip, we followed our original plan and visited the Berlin Lake Apple Manor in Yanyuan, a traditional Chinese-style manor adorned with apples. The manor has a natural lake and a vast lawn. The pleasant climate makes it a great place for travel. The internet-famous apple building is a major feature of the manor, and it is very photogenic. The quaint Berlin Academy here is also worth a visit. When the weather is good, you can sit on the rattan chairs in the old house and drink tea and chat.

When you can take a short break from your busy life, it is a good time in your life.

The location of the Manor Restaurant is also great, making the scenery outside the window appear like a flowing landscape mural before your eyes.

You can enjoy local specialties here, which are not to be missed. When traveling by car to Liangshan, Lugu Lake is a must-see attraction. It is also the one I look forward to the most and it is the place I visit again for the second time. Lugu Lake, located on the border of Sichuan and Yunnan, is known as the "Pearl of the Plateau". This time we visited the Yanyuan section of Liangshan, Sichuan. The surface of Lugu Lake is 2,690 meters above sea level. An ancient ethnic group, the Mosuo people, have lived on the shores of the lake for generations. The Walking Marriage Bridge, Grass Sea, Lover's Beach, Goddess Bay and other attractions are part of Lugu Lake's stunning scenery. Many people list these attractions as must-see places, and we can't miss them either.

For me, the most beautiful scenery of Lugu Lake is its sea of grass. Around the lake, aquatic plants grow wildly year-round, seemingly protecting this emerald green from outside intrusion, much like the Mosuo people, whose traditions have been passed down from generation to generation, and whose unwavering faith is the hallmark of Lugu Lake.

The temple boasts a Tibetan-style square fortress-style main hall, over 20 meters high, connected to hundreds of monks' quarters and courtyards. The main structure is meticulously arranged, reflecting the distinctive style of Tibetan Buddhist temples found in many other Tibetan areas.

The place of Muli satisfied many of our fantasies, including that it has a small and amazing lake "Shangri-La Lake". The plateau lake, shining like a gem, is dotted with countless floating meadow islands. Wildflowers are in full bloom among the lush greenery. Under the blue sky and white clouds, it is a beautiful painting. It is a great place for quiet daze...

“ "Shangri-La" means paradise on earth, which is the definition given to it by Buddhism. It is a legendary fictional world, but the place given this name in real life is definitely not bad, which really amazed me.

Shangri-La Lake is located deep in Muli. In the past, people preferred to call it a lake rather than a haizi. The Shangri-La Lake is surrounded by low hills. When the golden halo shines down from the sky, the Shangri-La Lake shows its sacred side. I heard that when the rhododendrons bloom is the best time to appreciate it. I look forward to coming again next time.

If someone were to ask me what beauty is, I would immediately think of the classical charm of Huili, the ripples of Qionghai Lake, the fragrant grasses of Lugu Lake, and the Shangri-La Lake filling my imagination.
