Beginning of Oct Weather and Pool Time?

Heading back to the Strip after a 3 year hiatus of only staying at DT properties for the past 5 trips. Decided on Luxor because I am that cheap, plus it was "free" with some perks. Anyway, when do the pools shut down in Vegas for the fall/winter seasons? Will the air temps be warm enough for pool time from October 1-4? Thanks

Visiting Las Vegas in early October is generally still warm enough for pool activities, especially during the daytime. The city starts cooling down in late October, but the first few days are often ideal for enjoying outdoor pools.

For the Luxor and other Strip resorts:

  • Most hotel pools remain open through October, though some may start limiting hours or closing certain pools later in the month for maintenance or seasonal reasons.
  • Daytime air temperatures in early October typically range from the mid-70s to mid-80s °F (24–29°C), which is comfortable for swimming and sunbathing.
  • Evenings can be cooler, dropping into the 60s °F (15–20°C), so evening swims might be less comfortable unless the pool is heated.

Additional points to consider:

  • Check directly with the Luxor for pool hours and any scheduled closures or maintenance before your visit, as resorts sometimes adjust schedules based on weather or events.
  • Many pools are heated, which extends comfortable swimming hours even as air temperatures begin to drop in October.
  • If pool time is a priority, consider planning your swims during late morning to mid-afternoon when temperatures are at their peak.

In summary, October 1–4 in Las Vegas is usually still very suitable for pool activities at the Luxor. Daytime conditions are generally warm, pools are open, and resort amenities support a comfortable outdoor experience.
