Tabard Inn Area for Dinners

I will be meeting college friends for several nights in late October and staying at the Tabard Inn. We will have a vehicle, but would prefer to be able to walk to some dinners if possible. Two of us are adventurous eaters, but 3 are not. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

The Tabard Inn is located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, which is a vibrant and walkable area with a wide variety of restaurants. Since you have a vehicle, you can also explore nearby neighborhoods, but there are plenty of options within walking distance for both adventurous and more traditional palates.

Restaurants within walking distance of the Tabard Inn that offer a mix of adventurous and classic fare:

  • Le Diplomate: French brasserie with classic French dishes, seafood, and steak; approachable for picky eaters but also offers interesting options.
  • Iron Gate: Mediterranean-inspired cuisine in a cozy, historic setting; offers creative dishes alongside familiar options.
  • Little Serow: Northern Thai cuisine for the adventurous eaters; spicy and flavorful dishes, though more casual and small plates style.
  • Komi: Contemporary Mediterranean tasting menu; adventurous but beautifully presented; reservations recommended.
  • Pizzeria Paradiso: Casual pizza and small plates; perfect for picky eaters or a more relaxed night out.

If you’re willing to drive a few minutes, additional areas with diverse dining options include:

  • Georgetown: Offers historic streets lined with restaurants ranging from casual American to international cuisines.
  • 14th Street NW Corridor: Trendy area with a mix of upscale dining and casual options, from barbecue to modern American fare.
  • Logan Circle: Neighborhood with farm-to-table restaurants, pizza spots, and innovative contemporary cuisine.

Overall, Dupont Circle itself provides a strong mix, allowing your group to enjoy both familiar and adventurous dishes without needing to drive every night. Walking around the neighborhood, you can also stumble upon small, casual spots for a flexible dining experience.
