How reliable is uber/lyft in Anchorage? I've been some places where it's hit or miss as far as vehicle availability. We have twelve people traveling and will need early morning rides from the home we are renting to the airport. Are they reliably available around 5:30 in the morning. Where I live, it's very hit or miss at that hour.
I'd prefer not to waste the $$ renting two vehicles, so I'm hoping that it's a reliable option there.
Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are available in Anchorage, but their reliability can vary depending on the time of day, location, and demand. During peak hours or around major events, rides are generally easier to find. However, in the very early morning hours, such as around 5:30 AM, availability may be limited because fewer drivers are active at that time.
For a group of twelve, ride-sharing could be challenging since standard vehicles typically seat 4-6 passengers. You would likely need multiple vehicles or a larger option if available. Some services allow you to request SUV or van options, but even then, availability may be restricted, especially at early hours.
Here are some practical options to consider:
In summary, while Uber and Lyft are present in Anchorage, relying solely on them at 5:30 AM for a large group carries some risk. Scheduling rides in advance, using multiple vehicles, or considering local taxi/van rentals will give you a more dependable solution.
