Steakhouse

Hi

Where is the best steakhouse in Waikiki?

We want to book a nice steakhouse to eat at. we like rib eye and scotch fillet steaks. We have 3 kids 10,7 and 5 which will be dining with us also. How far out do we need to make the bookings?

Thank you

Waikiki has several excellent steakhouses, each offering a great dining experience for both adults and kids. Here are some of the best options for a delicious steak dinner, particularly for ribeye and scotch fillet steaks, along with some details on booking:

  • Hy’s Steakhouse – This classic steakhouse is known for its quality steaks, including ribeye and filet mignon. It's been a Waikiki favorite for over 40 years. The atmosphere is elegant yet family-friendly, and they offer a kids' menu. The service is top-notch, and the wine selection is extensive.
  • Steak Shack – A more casual but excellent option for steaks, including ribeyes. Located on the beachwalk near Waikiki, this spot is perfect for a relaxed family dinner. While it's not as upscale as Hy's, it still delivers great steaks in a laid-back environment.
  • The Range – Located on the 7th floor of the Waikiki Business Plaza, this steakhouse offers a sophisticated setting with panoramic views. Known for their premium ribeye and scotch fillet steaks, they cater to both adults and children with a refined menu and a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Ruth's Chris Steak House – A popular chain, Ruth's Chris is a safe bet for a high-quality steak. Their sizzling ribeye is a favorite, and they offer a kid-friendly menu as well. Located in the heart of Waikiki, Ruth's Chris is a reliable choice for families who want a nice dinner.

As for making reservations, Waikiki restaurants can get busy, especially during peak times like weekends or holidays. For a family of five, it's a good idea to book ahead:

  • During peak tourist seasons (like summer and the holidays), try to book at least 1-2 weeks in advance, especially if you want a reservation for a specific time or date.
  • For a more relaxed time of year, booking 3-5 days in advance should be sufficient, but it's always safer to book early to avoid disappointment.

Overall, I recommend calling ahead or booking online directly through the restaurant's website or a reservation platform like OpenTable for the most convenience.

Enjoy your steak dinner and family time in Waikiki!
