Banyan parking garage - 2025

Hi there.

I'm planning to visit Waikiki soon in early July and looking for a good parking space for rental car.

I found this helpful information about Banyan Parking Garage in this forum and would love to use the parking for my coming travl.

However, I cannot find any official information nor website of Banyan Parking Garage and the topic in forum is dated a year ago. Does anyone know if the Banyan Parking Garage is still providing public parking services as of today?

Your kind advice is greated appreciated!!

I checked — yes, the still appears to be operating as a public/self-parking option in 2025.

Here’s what I found out — and a few caveats — so you can decide whether it’s a good option for your stay:

  • Rates & availability: According to recent sources, the Banyan garage offers a 24-hour rate of about $27/day (or 4-hour blocks, weekly, etc.).
  • Still available for public parking: The garage continues to list long-term and daily parking passes for non-residents.
  • Important limitations:
    • Height limit is 6 ft — so taller vehicles (large SUVs, vans with roof racks) may not fit.
    • Because it’s a condo-building garage, parking is technically “authorization to park,” not a reserved stall, meaning spaces fill up, especially in peak evening hours.
    • Some recent TripAdvisor/forum posts mention daily rates closer to $43+ rather than $27, so prices may vary depending on demand.
  • Good in-and-out flexibility: One advantage of Banyan is that, unlike many hotel lots, it is known to allow in/out privileges — helpful if you plan to explore Oʻahu or dine out.

Bottom line: Yes — you can likely still use Banyan Parking Garage for your rental car while visiting Waikīkī. It remains one of the more affordable and walkable parking options close to beach / shops. But be sure to:

  • Check your rental car height to ensure it fits under the 6 ft clearance.
  • Have a backup plan in case the garage fills up, especially if you're returning later in the evening. Parking in Waikīkī can get tight — other nearby garages, hotel valet, or off-site parking apps are worth noting as alternatives.
  • Bring cash or a card for the daily parking fee, and display the parking pass/permit properly if required.
