Truist Park - Must Do’s

Hi,

We (husband and wife 30s) are coming to town next month and seeing a night game at the stadium. Any must do’s or eats we should do at the stadium?

We haven’t brought tickets yet, usually we like to sit by the Visitor’s dugout as our team we be playing.

We’ll have a rental car to, so best (cheapest) place to park?

Does the stadium have the All Star Mickey Mouse statue from years ago?

Lastly any recommendations on places for pre or post game drinks around the stadium?

Many thanks

Hi there! It sounds like you're in for a great time at Truist Park! Here are some recommendations to help make your visit even better:

Must-Do’s & Eats at Truist Park:

Truist Park is known for its great food and vibrant atmosphere. Here are some top food options and must-do experiences inside the stadium:

  • Shake Shack: If you're in the mood for a classic burger and shake, Shake Shack is a fan favorite. It's located in the park and is always a solid choice.
  • Fox Bros. BBQ: For some authentic Southern BBQ, check out Fox Bros. BBQ. The brisket is a favorite, and you can't go wrong with the pulled pork either.
  • The 755 Club: If you're looking for something more upscale, the 755 Club offers a great dining experience with a view of the field. It's a little pricier, but worth it if you're looking to treat yourselves.
  • SunTrust Park Beer Garden: If you enjoy craft beer, head over to the Beer Garden. They offer local brews, and it's a fun spot to relax before the game.
  • Ice Cream at SweetWater: For dessert, grab an ice cream at SweetWater’s stand, which is a great spot to cool off and indulge.

Best Parking Options:

Parking at Truist Park can be tricky, especially on game days. Here are a few options for the best and cheapest places to park:

  • Official Truist Park Parking: The official parking lots closest to the stadium can fill up quickly, but they tend to be more expensive (around $20-30). It's convenient but pricey.
  • Georgia State University Lots: A bit further out, but the Georgia State lots can be cheaper (around $10-15) and often have space. A short walk to the stadium from here.
  • Park at a Nearby Hotel: Many hotels near the stadium allow non-guests to park for a fee. Check with places like the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center for parking options.
  • Street Parking: There are some street parking options in the area, but they can be limited and may have time restrictions. It's worth a try if you're looking to save money, but you might need to walk a bit.

The All-Star Mickey Mouse Statue:

Unfortunately, the iconic All-Star Mickey Mouse statue, which was once displayed at the stadium, is no longer there. However, you can still enjoy other fun photo ops around the park, including a statue of Hank Aaron and the Braves Hall of Fame, which is located near the entrance.

Pre/Post-Game Drinks:

There are a few great places around Truist Park to grab a drink before or after the game:

  • The Battery Atlanta: This is a fantastic area around the stadium filled with bars, restaurants, and shops. Some great options include:
    • Punch Bowl Social: A lively bar with pool, bowling, and a fun atmosphere. Great place to hang out before or after the game.
    • Guaco Joe’s: If you like margaritas and a lively atmosphere, this Mexican spot near the Battery is perfect.
    • The Terrapin Taproom: For craft beer lovers, this is a must-visit. It’s located right at The Battery, just steps from the stadium.
  • South City Kitchen: Just a short walk from Truist Park, this Southern restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with great cocktails and a solid brunch menu if you're visiting during the day.
  • Braves Country BBQ: For a more casual post-game hangout, check out Braves Country BBQ, where you can get some more of that delicious Southern BBQ and enjoy a beer.

Visitor's Dugout Seats: If you like sitting by the Visitor’s dugout, you'll have a great time! The seats near the dugouts tend to offer a good view of the action, and depending on where you sit, you might even get a chance to interact with the players. It’s a great way to experience the game up close!

Hope you have an awesome time at the game! Enjoy the food, the fun atmosphere, and the Braves action!
