Casual Crab/Lobster Restaurants & fun bars?

We will be there for 2 nights on July 26th & 27th and staying at the Westin for our 11th anniversary. (we will not have a car, but hoping for Lyft)

Are there any casual restaurants to crack and eat crab/lobster/shrimp etc...? I am thinking picnic tables, and checkered tablecloths.

We love seafood and would like to have as much as we can in 2 days.

Looking for a good brunch on Sunday, as well.

What about not fancy, beer bars with outdoor seating? We are casual and not looking to have anything fancy.

Annapolis is a fantastic spot for seafood lovers, especially if you’re looking for casual, fun dining experiences close to the waterfront. Since you won’t have a car, sticking to restaurants and bars within a short Lyft ride or walking distance from the Westin is ideal.

For casual crab, lobster, and shrimp meals, with picnic tables or a relaxed atmosphere:

  • Cantler’s Riverside Inn: A local favorite for steamed crabs and seafood platters. Casual, outdoor seating along the water, perfect for cracking crabs. Popular spot, so arriving early is advised.
  • O’Learys Seafood Restaurant: Traditional crab shack vibe with checkered tablecloths and a casual, friendly atmosphere. Known for fresh crab, shrimp, and lobster dishes.
  • Chick & Ruth’s Delly: While not strictly a seafood shack, it offers crab cakes and seafood options in a casual, diner-style setting. Fun for breakfast or a quick lunch.

For brunch on Sunday, consider:

  • Miss Shirley’s Cafe: Famous for brunch with creative twists on classic American dishes, including seafood options. Casual, lively atmosphere with good service.
  • Iron Rooster: Known for hearty brunches with options like crab eggs benedict. Friendly, relaxed vibe and convenient location.
  • The Federal House Bar & Grille: Outdoor seating and a solid brunch menu, right near the waterfront and historic district.

If you’re looking for casual beer bars with outdoor seating, good for a relaxed evening or afternoon drink:

  • The Ale House: Large outdoor patio, craft beers, casual pub fare. Perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.
  • O’Learys Sports Pub: Offers a casual bar environment with seafood options and outdoor seating.
  • Barrel House Tavern: Waterfront location, good craft beers, and casual, fun atmosphere.

Overall, staying near the Westin gives you easy access to the historic district and waterfront dining. You can easily hop between casual seafood spots, brunch places, and beer bars using Lyft or a short walk, maximizing your seafood indulgence over the two days.
