Pickleball in Annapolis

We will be spending several nights in Annapolis in June and would love to play some pickleball while there.

Please advise on the best places for intermediate level

players to meet and play-both indoors and outdoors.

Thanks for your recommendations!

If you're looking to play pickleball in Annapolis, you're in luck—there are several great options for both indoor and outdoor play. Whether you’re looking to find a local pickleball group or just want to hit the courts for some fun, there are plenty of places to suit your intermediate level. Here are some of the best spots to check out:

  • Broadneck Park – This is a great spot for outdoor pickleball. It has dedicated pickleball courts, and the community often plays here. It’s a fantastic place to meet other intermediate-level players. The courts can get busy, especially in June, so it's good to check for any scheduled playtimes or open play sessions.
  • Annapolis Athletic Club – This facility offers indoor pickleball courts and is a popular spot for players of all skill levels. They have scheduled pickleball sessions, which are perfect for intermediate players who want to practice or find others to play with. It’s a great indoor option, especially if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
  • Eastport Yacht Club – While primarily a yacht club, the Eastport Yacht Club has recently embraced pickleball as part of their recreational offerings. They host regular pickleball sessions, and it’s a great spot to meet players and get a competitive game going.
  • Edgewater Park – Just a short drive from Annapolis, Edgewater Park has multiple outdoor pickleball courts. The courts are often busy with players of various skill levels, and the park is a great spot to meet new people. Look for open play sessions or tournaments happening during your visit.

If you’re hoping to play regularly during your stay, it's a good idea to check the schedules for open play times or pickleball meetups. Local pickleball groups, like those on Facebook or Meetup, often organize games, and you may be able to find a group that matches your level. If you're new to the area, asking around at local gyms or sports centers is a great way to connect with other players.

Overall, Annapolis offers a nice mix of indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, and you’ll find plenty of opportunities to play and meet others while you're in town. Enjoy your stay and have fun on the courts!
