Beach chairs

I will be staying at Beal House in Fort Walton Beach. I’d planned on bringing my own beach chairs. Is that frowned upon? Or is it just that I won’t get prime seating? Does anyone know which beach chair rental company services that area?

Bringing your own beach chairs to Fort Walton Beach, including staying at Beal House, is generally not frowned upon. Most visitors do bring their own chairs, especially if they prefer a specific style or comfort level. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

Public access to the beach is open, so you can set up chairs anywhere along the shoreline. The main consideration is that areas serviced by chair and umbrella rental companies often have “prime spots” closer to the water, and those areas may have reserved setups. If you bring your own chairs, you might end up slightly behind these rental setups, but you can still enjoy the beach.

There are several beach chair and umbrella rental companies that service Fort Walton Beach and surrounding areas. Many of them offer delivery to your rental or hotel, so you don’t even need to carry your chairs yourself.

  • Emerald Coast Beach Service: Offers daily and weekly rentals of chairs and umbrellas, can deliver to most local accommodations.
  • Island Beach Service: Provides chair and umbrella rentals along Fort Walton Beach, also delivers to condos and houses.
  • Florida Beach Rentals: Includes chairs, umbrellas, and beach carts, with delivery and setup services.

If you prefer to use your own chairs, it’s totally acceptable. Just keep in mind:

  • You may not get the closest waterfront positions if rental setups are in place.
  • Some rental properties may provide recommendations or storage for chairs.
  • Setting up near your own belongings is usually fine, but avoid blocking rental service areas.

In summary, bringing your own chairs is perfectly fine, but if you want premium beach positioning or hassle-free setup, consider using one of the local rental companies.
