Shuttle from MCO to Legoland suggestions?
Hi all- anyone have recommendations for shuttle service from airport? Also is there things to do right around Legoland that are walkable but not in resort?
Thank you
Traveling from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Legoland Florida in Winter Haven is about a 45–50 minute drive under normal traffic. Since you’re looking for shuttle options rather than renting a car, there are several reliable choices depending on your group size and budget.
Shuttle service recommendations:
- LEGOLAND Shuttle / Mears Transportation — Mears offers private and shared shuttles from MCO to Legoland. They can be booked in advance and are reliable for families. A shared shuttle may require a slight wait, but is cost-effective.
- Go Airport Shuttle — Serves Orlando to Winter Haven area, offering both private and shared rides. Booking online ensures you get a confirmed pickup time.
- Uber or Lyft — For a smaller group, rideshare is convenient, faster, and flexible, though slightly more expensive than a shared shuttle.
- Rental Car Option — If your plans involve exploring other areas around Central Florida, renting a car may give you flexibility, though you mentioned a preference for shuttle service.
Once at Legoland, if you want to explore the surrounding area outside the resort, there are a few walkable attractions and dining options:
- Legoland Hotel Area Shops and Restaurants — Even outside the park, the adjacent hotel area has casual dining, small gift shops, and kid-friendly entertainment.
- Lake Eloise / Winter Haven Chain of Lakes — A short walk or drive from Legoland, you can enjoy lakeside parks, walking paths, and small local eateries. Great for a quieter stroll away from the park crowds.
- Local Cafés and Diners — Winter Haven has some family-friendly diners within a 5–10 minute drive from Legoland, offering breakfast, lunch, and coffee stops. Some are walkable if you stay at nearby accommodations.
- Mini-Golf / Arcade Options — There are a few small entertainment centers and miniature golf courses near the resort area, suitable for young kids.
Tips:
- Book your shuttle in advance to guarantee your pickup and drop-off times, especially in peak travel seasons.
- If traveling with young children, confirm if the shuttle provides car seats or booster seats.
- For short outings outside Legoland, plan for transportation like Uber/Lyft, as walkable options are limited beyond the immediate hotel area.
Overall, Mears and other private shuttles are the easiest way from MCO to Legoland, and while the area immediately around the park has a few walkable dining and entertainment options, a car or rideshare is helpful if you want to explore Winter Haven itself.
