Hotels near Capital One Arena

Hello

I looked up hotels near the arena on Google but got many but when I looked at location they seemed possibly not within walking distance. Any suggestions? I think the Yotel but it doesn't look to appealing.

Thanks

Staying near Capital One Arena in Washington DC is very convenient for attending games, concerts, and other events, and there are several hotels within easy walking distance. While YOTEL is one option, there are alternatives that offer more comfort, amenities, and family-friendly or upscale experiences.

The neighborhood around the arena—Chinatown/CityCenter—is compact and walkable, so most hotels within a few blocks will allow you to reach the arena in less than 10 minutes on foot.

  • Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Convention Center – About a 5-minute walk from the arena, this hotel is well-regarded for clean rooms and reasonable pricing. Good for families or small groups.
  • Hyatt Place Washington DC/Convention Center – Also a 5-10 minute walk, offering spacious rooms, free breakfast, and modern amenities. Comfortable for families or business travelers.
  • Washington Marriott at Metro Center – Slightly further, roughly a 10-12 minute walk. Upscale, with a full-service restaurant and bar, and convenient metro access if you want to explore further areas of DC.
  • Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square – About 15 minutes on foot, but in a quieter, upscale area near the White House. Offers luxury accommodations, excellent service, and a more refined atmosphere.
  • Holiday Inn Washington-Capitol – Approximately 10-minute walk, more budget-friendly, comfortable, and straightforward with family rooms available.

Other tips:

  • Check the hotel’s distance on a map rather than just the neighborhood name—walking distances in DC can be slightly deceptive due to blocks and one-way streets.
  • During event nights, consider booking early, as hotels near the arena tend to fill quickly and rates increase.
  • If you’re open to a slightly longer walk (15-20 minutes), Downtown DC or Penn Quarter hotels can also be convenient and offer more variety in dining and sightseeing options.

Overall, the Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt Place, and Marriott at Metro Center are solid choices for comfort, proximity, and convenience to Capital One Arena without sacrificing quality.
