Is Loews or Roosevelt hotel better?
Going in August with my 19 year old son. Going to see all the sites with him that he wants to see (walk of stars, Santa Monica pier, BH etc)
Thanks in advance
Both the Loews Hollywood Hotel and the Hollywood Roosevelt are excellent options for visiting Los Angeles, but they offer slightly different experiences depending on what you’re looking for during your trip with your 19-year-old son.
Location:
- Hollywood Roosevelt: Right on Hollywood Boulevard, steps from the Walk of Fame, TCL Chinese Theatre, and Dolby Theatre. Very convenient if you want to walk to major tourist attractions.
- Loews Hollywood Hotel: Also on Hollywood Boulevard, adjacent to Hollywood & Highland shopping center. Slightly more modern, and you can access attractions easily but it feels less “historic Hollywood.”
Atmosphere:
- Hollywood Roosevelt: Historic hotel with vintage Hollywood charm. Great for experiencing old Hollywood glamour and a classic vibe.
- Loews Hollywood Hotel: Modern, clean, and spacious. Less historic character but often more family-friendly in terms of amenities.
Amenities:
- Hollywood Roosevelt: Has a rooftop pool, bars, and restaurants. Perfect if you want an iconic LA experience and enjoy a hotel with character.
- Loews Hollywood Hotel: Features a rooftop pool, fitness center, and modern rooms. Convenient for families who prioritize comfort and easy access to attractions.
Nearby Access to Santa Monica and Beverly Hills:
- Both hotels are roughly 30–40 minutes from Santa Monica and Beverly Hills by car, depending on traffic. LA traffic can be heavy in August, so planning travel times is important.
- For quick access to the beaches or Beverly Hills shopping, having a car or rideshare app ready is recommended.
Recommendation:
If your focus is being in the heart of Hollywood, walking to landmarks, and enjoying historic vibes, the Hollywood Roosevelt is the better choice. If you prefer a more modern, spacious hotel with straightforward amenities while still being close to attractions, Loews Hollywood is great. Both are convenient starting points for day trips to Santa Monica, Venice Beach, and Beverly Hills.
