Guilin hotels
We are planning on staying in Guilin for 3 nights in March but reading all the hotel reviews is just confusing me more. Can anyone recommend a hotel including breakfast near city centre mid price range for 2 adults. Thanks
For a 3-night stay in Guilin in March (2 adults, city-centre, breakfast included and mid-price range) here are some hotel recommendations plus what to look out for.
Recommended hotels:
- – Boutique style, centrally located by Ronghu (lake) in Xiangshan District, well regarded for service, breakfast and English-speaking staff.
- – International chain, very central (near Sun & Moon Pagodas and pedestrian zones), good breakfast, modern rooms.
- – Slightly older style, but strong location (near Luosha Hill / Shan Lake), breakfast included, decent value for mid-budget.
What to check/ask before you book:
- Room facing – ask for a “city view” or “lake view” if possible (these rooms cost a little more but give a nicer vantage).
- Breakfast details – confirm that international or western-style items are included if your preference leans that way (some breakfasts are mainly Chinese).
- Location – since you only have 3 nights you’ll benefit from being walking distance to main sights like the Li River front, Sun & Moon Pagodas, pedestrian street, and eateries.
- Airport/train station transfer – check whether the hotel provides (or can arrange) a taxi to/from Guilin railway station or airport, for convenience.
Final suggestion: If comfort, central location and good breakfast are your priority, go with Aroma Tea House or Holiday Inn Express. They hit the “mid-price, city centre, breakfast included” criteria very cleanly and give you a comfortable base to explore without frequently changing hotels.
