Guilin airport

I will be staying in Guilin (no hotel yet)

Best way to the airport for single person. Thinking taxi may be more reliable that bus.

Many thanks

For a single traveler in Guilin, getting to the airport can be straightforward, but the best option depends on your priorities: convenience, cost, and reliability.

Here are the main options:

  • Taxi: The most convenient and reliable option, especially if you have luggage. Taxis can be hailed from your hotel, guesthouse, or main streets. The ride from central Guilin (around downtown or Zhengyang area) to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport usually takes 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect the fare to be roughly 120–150 RMB (~$15–20 USD), plus a small luggage fee if applicable.
  • Ride-hailing apps: Apps like DiDi can be used if you have a local SIM card or mobile internet. They offer fixed prices and cash or digital payment, which can be more convenient than haggling with a taxi.
  • Airport shuttle bus: There are regular shuttle buses from downtown Guilin to the airport. They are cheaper (~20–25 RMB), reliable, and run at scheduled times, but you need to make sure your departure aligns with the shuttle schedule and it might take longer due to stops along the way.
  • Private car or hotel pickup: Some hotels offer private airport transfers. This is convenient but slightly more expensive than a taxi.

In summary, if convenience and reliability are your priorities, a taxi or DiDi ride is the easiest option. If you are comfortable with public transport and want to save money, the airport shuttle bus is a viable alternative.
