Beach with bar service

Are there any beaches that have bar service and rented chairs on them within an hour of Port Charlotte? Something similar to a Caddy's in Treasure Island or Shepard's Beach Resort in Clearwater? We're looking for something we can kick back and relax, take a swim and order a couple drinks for day.

The Port Charlotte area offers several beaches within about an hour’s drive where you can relax, rent chairs, and enjoy bar service. While it doesn’t have as many bustling beach bars as Clearwater or Treasure Island, there are a few options that combine water, sun, and drink service for a laid-back day.

Beaches with Bar Service & Chair Rentals:

  • Lido Key / St. Armands Circle (Sarasota) – Approximately 55 minutes from Port Charlotte, Lido Key has beach chair and umbrella rentals, and nearby St. Armands Circle offers plenty of beachfront bars and restaurants within a short walk. While the bars aren’t directly on the sand, many provide table service close to the beach.
  • Siesta Key Beach (Sarasota) – Around 1 hour from Port Charlotte, Siesta Key Beach is famous for its soft white sand and clear water. Several beach bars nearby offer drinks and snack service, and chair/umbrella rentals are widely available. Some bars even have shaded cabana areas close to the water.
  • Englewood Beach – About 30 minutes south of Port Charlotte, Englewood Beach has a relaxed vibe. While there’s not a full bar directly on the sand, nearby restaurants and cafes offer drinks you can enjoy while relaxing on rented chairs, and some beachside vendors provide cocktails in season.
  • Cape Haze / Lemon Bay (Rotonda area) – Less crowded, roughly 20–30 minutes from Port Charlotte. Smaller beach areas and marinas may have tiki bars or small venues offering drinks to go along with a casual, quieter beach day.

Tips for Enjoying the Beach with Drinks:

  • Check ahead for seasonal openings, as some beach bars may not be fully staffed in the cooler months.
  • Arrive early on weekends or holidays to secure chair rentals and a good spot near bars.
  • If you prefer full service directly on the sand, Siesta Key and Lido Key are your best bets for combining a beach day with easy access to cocktails and food.

In summary, for a day of swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying drinks, Siesta Key and Lido Key are the closest equivalents to Clearwater’s beach bar scene, while Englewood and Rotonda offer quieter, more relaxed alternatives within a short drive of Port Charlotte.
