Overlapping lightning lane times

Any issues with this? For some rides I took what the app gave me and some overlap like 10:55 to 11:55 for one and the next 11:45 to 12:55.

I figured be at the 10:55 one and then we can jump on something in between and then make the next one.

Does that work? Thanks

When you have overlapping Lightning Lane (formerly FastPass) reservations at Disney parks, it can sometimes work but requires careful timing and strategy.

Here’s what to consider:

  • The Lightning Lane window is the time you are allowed to enter the queue. For example, if one ride has a window from 10:55 to 11:55 and the next from 11:45 to 12:55, there is an overlap of about 10 minutes.
  • You are expected to enter the ride within your designated window, but you don’t have to stay for the entire hour. Once you ride and exit, your reservation is considered used, even if there’s still time left in the window.
  • This means you can ride the 10:55 attraction first, then head to another ride if you can make it within the next window.

Practical tips:

  • Plan your path through the park to minimize walking time between attractions, especially if windows overlap tightly.
  • Allow buffer time for waiting, walking, and restroom breaks. Even Lightning Lane lines can have short waits depending on ride efficiency and crowd levels.
  • If the rides are popular or far apart, overlapping windows can be stressful. Consider swapping one of the reservations to a later time to avoid rushing.
  • You can check wait times in the app in real-time; sometimes you can ride a standby line quickly if the Lightning Lane schedule is too tight.

In short, overlapping Lightning Lane windows can work if you are strategic and quick, but for a more relaxed experience, spacing them out is usually better. Your plan of riding the first at 10:55, squeezing in another attraction, and then hitting the 11:45 reservation should be feasible if distances are short and wait times are reasonable.
