6 women in Scottsdale
Hi. We are visiting from Feb 12-16. My 50th bday is on the 12th and we’d like to get dressed up and go to a restaurant that has good food and cocktails but more so a fun vibe and atmosphere. Any suggestions? We would also love to dress western and hit up a country bar either Friday or Saturday. Would love suggestions please. We are staying at an air bnb 5 minute Uber from old town. Also a hike that isn’t more than 5km that is intermediate or so. Any other suggestions would be great!
Happy early 50th birthday! Scottsdale offers a great mix of dining, nightlife, and outdoor activities, so you can definitely celebrate in style. Here’s a detailed set of recommendations for your group:
Restaurants with fun vibe and cocktails for your birthday:
- The Mission: Upscale Latin cuisine with a lively, modern ambiance. Great cocktails and small plates perfect for sharing.
- Olive & Ivy: Located on the waterfront, offers a chic setting, Mediterranean-inspired menu, and excellent cocktails.
- AZ/88: Trendy and casual, known for unique cocktails and small bites, perfect for a fun, energetic vibe.
- FnB: If you want a more intimate but still vibrant experience, FnB offers farm-to-table cuisine with excellent wine and cocktail pairings.
Western / country bar experience:
- The Rusty Spur Saloon: Classic Old Town Scottsdale bar, live country music, dancing, and a true western vibe.
- Bobby Q: A casual spot with BBQ, cocktails, and sometimes live music—fun for a western-style outing.
- Kansas City Barbecue and Western Nights: Some bars in Old Town host weekend country nights with line dancing and cowboy attire encouraged.
Hiking options (up to ~5 km, intermediate):
- Tom’s Thumb Trail: Approximately 4-5 km round trip, moderate climb, beautiful desert scenery, and interesting rock formations.
- Pinnacle Peak Trail: About 4 km round trip, offers panoramic views of Scottsdale and the surrounding desert, moderate difficulty.
- Gateway Loop Trail at McDowell Sonoran Preserve: Offers flexible options, 4-5 km sections available, moderate elevation, and excellent desert landscapes.
Other suggestions:
- Consider a spa day for your birthday—many resorts in Scottsdale offer luxury spa packages.
- Try a hot air balloon ride at sunrise for a unique perspective on the Sonoran Desert.
- Check out art galleries and boutiques in Old Town Scottsdale for shopping and exploring between meals and hikes.
- Evening strolls along Scottsdale Waterfront or outdoor patios for cocktails are a fun way to soak in the atmosphere without rushing.
Overall, your plan can mix a memorable birthday dinner, western-themed nightlife, scenic desert hikes, and optional activities like spa or balloon rides. Staying near Old Town is perfect for easy access to both the nightlife and restaurants.
