If you have a long transit in Macau and want to explore the city without booking a hotel, there are a few options for storing your luggage near Macau International Airport.

1. Airport luggage storage: Macau International Airport does have a left-luggage service, although it is limited and may not be free. You can store luggage up to 25 kg, but it is recommended to check the opening hours and fees before arrival.

2. Nearby hotels or luggage services: Some hotels near the airport offer luggage storage for non-guests for a small fee. You can contact hotels within a 10–15 minute taxi ride to see if they allow short-term luggage storage.

3. Luggage storage services in Macau city: If you prefer to store luggage in the city to explore freely, there are several services near major transport hubs such as Macau Ferry Terminal or the casinos in the city center. They usually charge per piece per day, and 25 kg should be acceptable.

  • Check “Macau Luggage Storage” services at Guia Ferry Terminal or near Senado Square.
  • Some hostels and guesthouses may offer luggage storage for a small fee even if you are not staying there.
  • Large hotels like Galaxy or Sands may offer paid luggage storage; call ahead to confirm.

4. Getting there from the airport:

  • Taxi: The most convenient option, about 15–20 minutes to the city center or luggage storage locations.
  • Airport shuttle bus: Some shuttle buses go from the airport to major hotels and casinos where luggage storage might be available.

Overall, for a budget traveler, the most practical way is to either use the airport’s own luggage storage (if available) or a small luggage service near the ferry terminal or central Macau. Always confirm maximum weight allowed and operating hours. Free storage is rare, so expect to pay a small fee per bag.
