Panda Pavilion

Hi, we will be visiting Macau for only 1 day. If possible, we would love to see the pandas. However we will be there on Easter Sunday.

I can’t find details on their website to say if they will be open or closed on Easter Sunday.

Please can someone advise if we will be able to visit the pandas that day?

Thank you

The Panda Pavilion in Macau is located within Seac Pai Van Park on Coloane Island. It is a popular spot for visitors who want to see giant pandas and learn about their conservation.

Regarding visiting on Easter Sunday:

  • Macau does not officially recognize Easter Sunday as a public holiday for closures of attractions. Most public attractions, including the Panda Pavilion, typically remain open on this day.
  • Standard opening hours are generally from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but it is advisable to check locally as hours may vary slightly on holidays.
  • Since Easter can be a busy time with families visiting, arriving early is recommended to avoid long queues and have enough time to enjoy the pavilion and park.

Additional tips for a one-day visit:

  • Combine your visit with a short walk around Seac Pai Van Park and nearby Coloane Village to experience the scenic surroundings and local food.
  • Transportation: Take a taxi or bus from the city center or Macau Peninsula to Coloane Island, which takes approximately 30–40 minutes.
  • Tickets: There is usually a small entry fee for the Panda Pavilion; purchasing tickets at the entrance on the day is common, but checking in advance if online options are available may save time.

In conclusion, you should be able to visit the Panda Pavilion on Easter Sunday without issues. Arriving early and planning transportation ahead will help make your short one-day visit smooth and enjoyable.
