Trying to find a hotel for one night

Question

Staying at the Venetian for several nights in April but wanted to add an additional night and it goes from $185 a night to $600 additional for the night I want. So for that first night going to need to do a different hotel unless I get a deal closer in at the Venetian. So I’m seeing hotels at like $23 for the night plus resort fees, ie the linq. Are these horrible hotels - should I stay away from them? We are in our late 50’s so the party scene is not necessary but I understand we are in Vegas. Just want clean and quiet if possible. Any thoughts or suggestions?
