Place to stop on windward coast & north shore scenic drive

Aloha,

My wife and I will be visiting Oahu at the start of February and are looking to hire a car for 1 day

We would like to see the Windward scenic coast (above Kailua) and the north shore.

Please can anyone advise of stops that we should make note of? we would like to see scenic view points and some of the competitive surfing on the north shore, if possible. We have Pali lookout written down so far.
