Areas with surf beach walkable to town/shops

No sure if this exists but family is looking to rent a condo in an area that is walking distance to a surf beach as well as a town with shops/restaurants. I’m thinking poipu but wanted to see if there are any specific communities that would be a good fit. Thx!
